Silvertongue: Portland Indy Band

This spring, I collaborated with local Portland indy band Silvertongue on the release of their new 2025 album Fossils. Together, we shot three music videos and created new band photos at local vintage mall Memory Den.

Silvertongue began in Massachusetts, founded by frontman Andrew Stevens and guitarist Jake Hogan. After relocating to Portland, Oregon, the duo connected with keyboardist Mel Boell and drummer Joe-Henry McQuary, solidifying the band’s current lineup.

Renowned for their high-energy performances and magnetic stage presence, Silvertongue has cultivated a loyal following throughout the Pacific Northwest and beyond. While their roots lie in folk, their sound has evolved to include elements of pop and dance—resulting in a vibrant, genre-blending style they call “Garden Indie,” where organic textures meet electrifying rhythms.

Touring coast to coast, Silvertongue has brought their dynamic live show to venues and festivals across the country. They've shared the stage with acts like Almost Monday, Krooked Kings, and Wild Party, steadily building their national profile with each performance.

In the summer of 2023, Silvertongue toured through the Southwest United States, out of that tour came the creation of the song Sierras, which was written to commemorate their experience on tour.
